Frequently Asked Questions About Special Events Photographer Insurance

Special event photography is any photography for birthday parties, corporate events, baby showers, bridal showers, anniversaries, or sporting events. Whether you’re a hobbyist covering a friend’s event for free or a paid professional, special event photography protects you while you’re capturing important memories and milestones.

Special event photography costs $59 per event or $12 to $23.38 / month for year-round coverage. If you shoot fewer than four events a year, an event policy might be all you need. But if you shoot four or more events annually and want to protect your equipment and career, an annual plan is your best bet.

Special event photographers face several common risks that can (unfortunately) develop into really expensive claims. Risks like a client tripping over your lighting equipment and injuring themselves, or accidentally using a faulty memory card that loses all the photos from a corporate dinner.

Claims like these can turn into hefty out-of-pocket expenses if you don’t have insurance. With photographers’ insurance, these types of claims can be resolved quickly at little or no expense to you.

While filing a claim is never fun, here at Full Frame we’ve made it easy for you:

  1. Login to your user dashboard
  2. Locate the “Manage Policies” section
  3. Click “File a Claim”
  4. Fill out the form and submit

Need help? We’re here for you! You can also contact our customer service team for help with the process.

Yes! You can add qualified additional insureds at any time from your user dashboard. Add unlimited additional insureds to an event policy for $5, or to your annual plan for $30.

Yes! Our event policy starts out at $59 for up to three days of coverage. But if you shoot more than three events a year, an annual plan will save you money and give you more coverage.

"Really easy & just what I needed."

Really easy & just what I needed now that I’ve upgraded my gear and need to have that peace of mind. Hopefully, I won’t need to submit a claim in the future, but if I do, I hope it goes as well as the purchasing did.

"Great, fast insurance at a perfect price."

Great, fast insurance at a perfect price. We work and shoot weddins internationally so it was super convenient to have fast, easy coverage for the few weddings that we had in the states this year. There were a couple of changes that I needed to make after purchasing a single-day policy and their customer support was super helpful and fast. Thank you, Full Frame!

General Liability

General liability insurance can cover the cost of third-party bodily injury and property damage claims, like if a client trips on your business equipment and injures themselves, or you accidentally damage furnishings or flooring at a venue. It also protects against the cost of copyright infringement claims, personal and advertising injury claims, and more.

Camera Equipment (Inland Marine)
(Optional With Annual Plans Only)

Also known as inland marine, camera equipment insurance can cover the cost of repairing or replacing damaged or stolen business equipment (camera bodies, lenses, lighting equipment, and more). Our policy can protect against claims that occur at home, on a job, and anywhere in between. Full Frame offers multiple coverage options for equipment insurance based on your business needs.

Failure to Deliver (Professional Liability)
(Optional With Annual Plans Only)

Failure to Deliver, aka professional liability or errors and omissions (E&O), can cover the cost of claims that arise from mistakes, like if your memory card fails and your client’s photos are lost, an unexpected illness prevents you from being able to shoot an event, or you inadvertently give poor or incomplete advice as part of a demo.

Data Breach (Cyber Liability)
(Optional With Annual Plans Only)

Data breach insurance can cover the cost of claims that arise from a cybersecurity breach. If you collect or store client info or photos online, take payments over the internet, or send sensitive data over email, we highly recommend adding this coverage to your policy.

Additional Insureds

When you add a person, event, or organization to your policy as an additional insured, they receive protection if they are named in a suit due to a covered business-related loss/claim because of your actions or operations.

Additional insured status cannot be granted to a friend or co-worker as an extension of your policy. Each individual must purchase their own policy to obtain liability coverage.

A written contract, such as a venue, studio rental, or employment contract is required to add another party as additional insured.

Damage To Rented Premises

This coverage can protect your business from the cost of claims arising from damages done to rented spaces, like a studio or event booth. It’s common for property owners and event organizers to require businesses to list them as additional insureds on a policy before renting a space. Full Frame provides unlimited additional insureds for just $30.
