Who Needs Videography Liability Insurance?
Full Frame’s videography insurance covers thousands of professional videographers in many industries. With high-quality general liability, camera insurance, professional liability coverage, and additional options, you can work worry-free, knowing you and your business are financially protected should a claim arise.
Common professional videography industries Full Frame Insurance (FFI) covers include:
- Wedding Videography
- Event Videography
- Documentary Videography
- Travel Videography
- Nature Videography
- Commercial Videographers
- Real Estate Videography
- Freelance Videographers— and more
What Is Videographer Insurance?
The best videographer insurance is not going to be a one-size-fits-all business policy. With FFI, you get a series of liability coverages and customizable options tailored to your industry, giving you the ultimate coverage for your business.
Coverage starts with general liability. From there, you can opt in to protect your camera and other business gear, safeguard your reputation and operations with professional liability, stay protected online with data breach coverage (cyber liability), or easily add additional insureds to your policy.
Start with any of these base options to build your custom plan (note: you can only get camera insurance and other optional/add-on coverages with an annual plan):
- Annual Plus – from $23.83/month – includes general liability and camera and equipment insurance (most popular!) and options for professional and data breach coverage, additional insureds, and to increase your camera coverage limit
- Annual – from $12/month – includes general liability and options to add other coverages and additional insureds
- Event – from $59 per event – includes general liability and the ability to add additional insureds
No matter how careful you are, you can’t eliminate all risk. A client could fall and injure themselves on a shoot, your gear could get stolen or damaged, or your memory card could fail, and you could get hit with a costly claim. Without insurance, you risk losing thousands of dollars to even a single mishap.
What Claims Does Videography Insurance Cover?
Common claims videographers face come from unhappy clients, injured third parties, or accidentally damaged property. Your lighting could topple over and damage the flooring at a venue, or the mother of the bride could need medical attention after tripping over your tripod, or your client might claim you let them down.
Claims like these eat away at your profits and could financially devastate your business. That’s why Full Frame provides robust coverage options from general liability insurance and professional liability coverage to data breach, camera gear insurance, and more, so you can get the extra protection you want for your business.
Video Equipment Insurance
5 Tiers From $5,000 – $75,000 in Annual Coverage
Also known as inland marine or camera insurance, video equipment insurance is designed to cover the cost of repairing or replacing damaged or stolen business equipment.
It protects your camera bodies, lenses, lighting equipment, your work laptop and other tech — and more. Our policy covers claims that occur at home, on a job (and anywhere in between).
Full Frame offers multiple coverage options for equipment insurance based on your business needs. It comes bundled in the Annual Plus plan or can be added to the Annual plan, and you can choose the tier you need based on the amount of equipment you need to cover.
Buy from $16.58/month ($184/year)
General Liability
Included: $2 Million per policy term / $1 Million per occurrence
Optional: Increase any Annual Policy to $2M per occurrence / $2M policy term (+$6.42/month)
General liability insurance is designed to protect your videography business from the cost of third-party claims like these:
- Physical injuries, such as a client injuring themselves on a shoot or someone tripping over your gear at an event, who then sues you for medical expenses
- Property damage, in case you accidentally break something, ruin something, or cause damage to a venue where you’re working, for example
- Advertising mistakes that result in claims like being sued for false advertisement, copyright infringement, slander or libel, and more
Additional Types of Coverage
Damage to Premises Rented
$300,000 occurrence / $300,000 per policy term
Included in Annual policies — it’s there to protect your videography business from the cost of claims arising from damages done to rented spaces, like a film studio or event booth. It covers damage to structure, furnishings, and so on for the first seven (7) days, and damage caused by accidental fire afterward.
Additional Insureds
Optional with any policy — it’s common for property owners and event organizers to require videographers to list them as additional insureds on a policy before renting a space. Full Frame provides videographers with unlimited additional insureds for just $30 on Annual plans (or $5 to add them to an event policy).
Data Breach Insurance
$100,000 occurrence / $100,000 per policy term
Optional with Annual policies — also known as cyber liability, it protects you from the financial repercussions that could arise from a cybersecurity breach caused by hackers, malware, and more. If you collect, send, or store business information online on a computer, tablet, or mobile device, we recommend adding this to your policy.
Professional Liability (Failure to Deliver)
$100,000 occurrence / $200,000 per policy term
Optional with Annual policies – and strongly recommended. Videographer professional liability insurance (also known as errors and omissions / E&O) can protect your reputation and business from negligence claims that arise from mistakes — like giving poor instruction or failing to provide necessary information on a subject. If you teach classes or run demos as part of your business, make sure you add this coverage to your plan.
You're In Good Company With Full Frame
Here’s what other people have to say about their experience.

Really easy & just what I needed now that I’ve upgraded my gear and need to have that peace of mind. Hopefully, I won’t need to submit a claim in the future, but if I do, I hope it goes as well as the purchasing did.

Great, fast insurance at a perfect price. We work and shoot weddins internationally so it was super convenient to have fast, easy coverage for the few weddings that we had in the states this year. There were a couple of changes that I needed to make after purchasing a single-day policy and their customer support was super helpful and fast. Thank you, Full Frame!

The easiest and fastest insurance experience I’ve ever encountered! I was overpaying dramatically for my business insurance before I found Full Frame. I’m so glad I found them!

Quick easy and more affordable than other options. I called to get a question answered and it was a really nice experience, the lady I spoke with was really helpful and kind.

Easier way to get insurance for your event. Hopefully I will never have to use it. 📸📽️

Ordering was super simple. Hopefully if I need to make a claim one day, that will be simple.

Questions About Videographer Insurance
Videographers need general liability coverage for third-party injury and property damage claims, professional liability insurance to protect against errors and omissions, and camera equipment insurance to protect their gear. They should also consider data breach coverage (aka cyber liability) to guard against financial fallout from cyberattacks.
Yes — depending on the policy you purchase. Our Annual Plus plan bundles camera and gear coverage alongside general liability for $23.83 per month. For about the cost of going out to dinner, you can work stress-free knowing that your business, camera, and career are protected.
Videography insurance costs $23.83 per month to protect both your business and your expensive video shooting equipment. If you don’t need to protect your gear, your cost for videographer insurance could be as little as $12 per month. If you only need coverage for a 1-3 day event, you can buy an event policy for $59.
You need videographer insurance because videography (even amateur videography) comes with inherent risks. Filming at different locations, hefting your gear back and forth, and shooting a variety of subjects exposes you to a wide array of unknowns. In the event of a claim-worthy incident, you could face claims with an out-of-pocket cost in the thousands.
It’s also common for venues, national and state parks, landlords, event organizers, and other third parties to require you to provide proof of insurance. You may even be required to add them to your policy as additional insureds. This protects them if they are sued because of an incident arising from your business operations.
